Materials for the Uppercase Letter U Craft

  • white construction paper
  • pink construction paper
  • construction paper for the background (color of choice)
  • googly eyes
  • wrapping ribbon. I chose a silvery, glittery one to go with this theme.
  • red and grey marker/crayon
  • tape
  • glue
  • scissors
  • alternative – white paper and crayons

Instructions for the Uppercase Letter U Craft

  1. Draw the cut pieces as shown above with a thick marker and then have your student follow the remaining instructions.
  2. Cut out a large uppercase U and an oval the size of an egg for the head from the white paper.
  3. Next, cut out a triangle for the unicorn’s horn from the pink paper.
  4. Then glue down the uppercase U in the middle of the backing paper.
  5. Next, glue down the head on the top right side of the U.
  6. Then glue down the pink triangle on the top of the unicorn’s head.
  7. Next, glue down a googly eye in the middle of the unicorn’s head.
  8. Then use your red marker/crayon to draw a smile for the unicorn and the grey marker/crayon to decorate the unicorn’s horn.
  9. Next cut 8-10 pieces of wrapping ribbon, half longer, half a little shorter.
  10. Then use your tape to stick the shorter lengths of wrapping ribbon by the unicorn’s horn for its mane.
  11. Finally, tape the longer pieces of wrapping ribbon on the top left corner of the U for its tail.
