Items you could look for could include a vase, village buildings, Visa card, van, VHS player, vehicles, vest, vacuum, V-Wing lego set, videos.

Setting up the Lowercase Letter V Craft

When you are ready to make the craft with your student, set out all of the materials on the table so that everything is ready to go. Watch the video or read a book about vultures and show your child the letter V. You can do this by writing it on a piece of paper really big, or by pointing to the letter on the cover of the book.

Emphasize the letter sound and brainstorm different words that start with V besides vulture. Video, velociraptor, and vegetables are three examples of words that start with V. Tell your child these three examples to help get them thinking of ideas.

Instructions for the Lowercase Letter V Craft

  1. Draw the cut pieces as shown in the image above with a thick marker. Then have your child proceed with the instructions below.
  2. Cut out a lowercase v and 2 wings from the black paper.
  3. Next, cut out 2 feet and a beak from the orange paper.
  4. Then cut out a circle for a head from the pink paper
  5. Next, cut out a cloud-shaped collar for the vulture’s neck from the white paper.
  6. Then glue down the v towards the bottom of the backing paper
  7. Next, glue down the 2 wings on either side of the v.
  8. Then glue down the feet at the bottom of the v.
  9. Next, glue down the pink circle for the vulture’s head on the top right of the v.
  10. Then glue down the white collar at the bottom of the head.
  11. Next, glue down the beak on the right slide of the head.
  12. Finally, glue down the googly eyes in the middle of the head.
